Vera Nadine Gary Young, 92, Granby, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at St. John’s Medical Center in Joplin, following a short illness.  

Vera was born Feb. 11, 1918, in Granby, the daughter of Earl and Ella Peters Largen. She was a lifelong area resident and worked at Millers Manufacturing in Granby as a seamstress.  

Vera married Eugene Otis Gary, who preceded her in death on June 20, 1951. She then married George William Young on Oct. 26, 1991, and he survives.  

Additional survivors include two children, Carol Fry and husband, Bill, Diamond, and Larry G. Gary and wife, Jo, Neosho; four step-children, Mike Young, Jack Young, Mary Bullis and Jean Teachman; one brother, Bill Largen, Grove, Okla.; one sister, Helen Sims, Granby; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby, Rev. Fred Franks officiating. Interment will be in the Granby Memorial Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Gary, Darrell Gary, Terrell Gary, Darrin Fry, Jeremy Workman and Nathan Long.  

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and the family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
