Ellouise Frances (Allen) Cook, 84, passed away Saturday, Aug, 28, 2010, at Foxwood Springs Living Center in Raymore, Mo.
Frances was born Jan. 9, 1926, in Burlington, Kan., to Dale and Grace (Carmen) Allen.
Frances graduated from Winfield High School in 1945 and graduated from Emporia State University in 1949 with a bachelors’ of science degree in business. She taught business classes at Horton Kansas High School.
On June 3, 1951, she married Robert C. Cook at Arkansas City, Kan.
She and Bob lived in Osage City, Kan., Lawrence, Kan., Neosho, and Pittsburg, Kan. During those years she held various office positions. While in Lawrence, Frances typed more than 100 theses and dissertations for University of Kansas students. Frances was a member of American Business Women’s Association, Christian Women’s Fellowship, member of the Raymore Christian Church and enjoyed volunteer work. In 1990, she and Bob retired to Foxwood Springs Living Center, Raymore.
She is survived by her husband Bob; son, Bruce and Mary Cook, South Bend, Ind., son Douglas Cook and daughter, Stephanie Cook, Overland Park, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, R.D. Allen; and sister, Joyce Marie Allen Clark.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Foxwood Springs Living Center, Raymore.
