Roy Gene Lindley, Diamond, passed Saturday morning June 28, 2008 at his home, following an illness.
Roy was born on Aug. 21, 1940 in Neosho. He is the son of the late William Lewis and Aline (Greninger) Lindley. Roy worked as a forklift driver for Lozier’s for 30 years before retiring in 2002. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Diamond and was an avid fisherman and ’57 Chevy enthusiast.
Roy married Della Samson on Nov. 6, 1965 in Diamond, she survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Marsha Lindley and Rita Jens and her husband, Andrew; one brother, Lewis Lindley and his wife, Sara; two sisters, Pat Thurman and her husband, Neal and Shirley Plummer and her husband, Joe; and two grandchildren, Casey and Lindsey Patterson, all whom reside in Diamond.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by one daughter, Julie Aline Lindley.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Diamond, Rev. Ron Crow and Rev. Elmer White will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Diamond Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Mason-Woodard.
