Matthew Edgar Leer, 26, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Nevada Regional Medical Cetner.
He was born Dec. 18, 1981, in Ft. Scott, Kan., to Alfred Henry Leer and Denise Lynn Waddle Leer.
He married Terah Lynn McKnight on May 7, 2007, in Miami, Okla., and she survives of the home.
Matthew grew up in Nevada. He attended school in Nevada and Neosho. Matthew was currently employed as a roofer working for Toby Gicante, Nevada.
Survivors include, in additon to his wife, Terah, one step-daughter, Addison Hallam, Nevada; his father, Alfred Henry Leer, Goodman; two brothers, Alfred Leer, Jr., Hannibal, Mo., Joshua Lynch, Webb City; his grandparents, Frieda Leer, Nevada, and James and Edna Parker, Neosho; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; mother-in-law, Karen Overly, Nevada; and brother-in-law, Darrel Claspill, Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Denise Lynn Leer, in 1987.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30, Wednesday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
