Bill W. Pogue, 82, Neosho, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at Seneca House, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Pogue was born March 9, 1928, in Neosho, the son of Ervin and Ella (Reece) Pogue. He moved to Neosho in 1992 from Goodman and had worked in the body shop at Griffith Motor Co. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of Freewill Baptist Church.
Bill married Virginia Bowman on June 12, 1950, and she preceded him in death in 2004.
He is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Shadwick and husband, Roger, Neosho; two grandchildren, Nathan Shadwick and wife, Hillary, and Amy Kluth and husband, Bob; three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Megan and Broady; two brothers, Hermey Pogue and Luther Pogue, Neosho; and two sisters, Wilma Weston and Mary Barrickman, Neosho.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Pogue and Joner Pogue; and three sisters, Opal Long, Cledith Moulder and Dorothy Weems.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Freewill Baptist Church, Pastor Mike Bevis will officiate. Interment will be in the Neosho IOOF Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Mahaffey, Sparlin Draper, Norman Houston, Vince Rodden, Frank Williams and Tom McCullough.
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p,m. Friday at the funeral home.
