Nellie F. Pelz, 58, Granby, died on July 5, 2008 at St. John’s Medical Center in Joplin, following an illness. 

Nellie was born Nov. 21, 1949 in Newton County, was a lifelong area resident and a Christian.

She is survived by three sons, Curtis Robbins, Jr., Auburn, Ala., Douglas Robbins, Granby and John Pelz, Racine; one sister, Ann Bond, Neosho; one brother, Frank Shewmake, Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Martha (Stribling) Shewmake, and two brothers, Lawrence Shewmake and Terry Shewmake. 

The body has been taken for cremation and the family will have private graveside services at a later date.
