Obituary for Mrs. Etta Mae Beavers

Etta Mae Beavers, 83, Neosho, died at 7:55 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at St. John’s Medical Center in Joplin, following a short illness.  Mrs. Beavers was born Feb. 18, 1925 in Granby, the daughter of Walter Snow and Fern (Wilson) Snow, and was a lifelong area resident. She owned and operated the Nifty Café in Neosho for 20 years, was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Neosho. 

Etta and Earl W. Beavers were married on Sept. 13, 1940 in Neosho and he preceded her in death on March 8, 2000. 

She is survived by five children, Earl Beavers, Jr., Gulf Breeze, Fla., Barbara Fikes, Neosho, Loretta Embrey and husband, Richard, Grove, Okla., Steve Beavers and wife, Linda, Neosho, and Alice David and husband, Jim, Goodman; one brother, Don Snow, Seneca; two sisters, Edna Lett, Des Moines, Iowa, and Clara Heidrick, Seneca; 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. 

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Dr. Jerry Seigel and Rev. Ryan Palmer will officiate. Following services, the body will be taken for cremation.  Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. 

Contributions in memory of Etta may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, 64850.
