Barbara Lou Bistodeau-Sorrell, 61, Seneca, died at 9 a.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at her home. 

She was born April 26, 1947, in Newton County, to Harold and Erma (Hayne) Duncan.

Barbara returned to the area in 1998. She drove a truck for CFI with her husband. She was also a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, and loved her grandkids and horses.

Barbara married Kim Sorrell, June 12, 1999 in Joplin. He survives.  Additional survivors include her mother, Erma Duncan, Goodman; four brothers, Bill Duncan, Goodman, Danny Duncan, Stella, Randy Duncan, McDonald County, and Ricky Duncan, Neosho; three sisters, Patricia Milliken, Racine, Pamela Barnett, Goodman, and Christina Duncan, Seneca; three grandchildren, Tasha Ohnemus, Amanda Hands and Joseph Hansen; a great-granddaughter, Brianna; a daughter-in-law, LeAnn Hansen, nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Bistodeau; her father; and a step-son, Leslie Sorrell.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, at Seneca First Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, south of Neosho.
