Lela “Faye” Parker, 88, Neosho, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at her home following a sudden illness.
She was born July 30, 1921, in McElhaney, Mo., to Ervin and Zelma Viola (Capps) Sooter.
Mrs. Parker had owned and operated a drugstore. She moved to Neosho in 1971, and was a member of Monarch Springs Baptist Church.
Faye and Harold H. “Doc” Parker were married in 1954, in Denver, Colo.
He preceded her in death Oct. 24, 1991.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Stanley, an infant son, Larry Stanley; and a brother, Bud Sooter.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Pat Stanley, Neosho; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two nieces; one nephew; and a sister-in-law, Pauline Parker.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Monarch Springs Baptist Church, with Pastor Melvin Stapp officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, south of Neosho. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Stanley, Mike Rupp, Johnny Carlton, Mike West, Don Clark and Kevin Wilson.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., today and from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Thursday, where the family will receive friends from 6 - 7 p.m. Thursday.
