Viola “Vi” Denham, 96, Neosho, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Freeman West Hospital, following a sudden illness.
She was born Sept. 12, 1915, in Leon, Okla., to John and Bessie (Waldrip) Hice.
Mrs. Denham was a homemaker and an avid domino player. She was of the Baptist faith.
Vi married Clarence Denham, Dec. 16, 1932, in Leon.
He preceded her in death April 18, 1968.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Freda Hartman, Miami, Okla., in 2001, and Joyce Westmoreland, Porterville, Calif., in 2009; four brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Nelda Merriman and Neda Denham, both of Neosho; 11 grandchildren, including two local granddaughters, Paulette Daugherty, Neosho, and Annette Merriman, Webb City; 19 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
