Obituary for Mrs. Josie L. Parker

Josie L. Parker, 92, Granby, died at 4:35 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Freeman Neosho Hospital, following several months of ill health. 

She was born Feb. 23, 1916, in Rockport, Mo., to Issac Bailey and Leah Dolly (Kincannon) Bailey.

Mrs. Parker worked as a seamstress at the Granby Garment Factory and at the Shoe Factory in Sarcoxie. She was a member of the Neosho Church of the Nazarene.

Josie married Donald Parker, Oct. 23, 1937 in Nebraska. He preceded her in death July 15, 2000.

She is survived by three sons, Donald R. Parker and Arthur and wife, Vicki Parker, all of Granby, and James and wife, Edna Parker, Neosho; a daughter, Janice and husband, Chuck, Coon, Grandview, Mo.; a brother, Woodrow Bailey, Portland, Ore.; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel, Granby, with D. L. Huffman officiating. Burial will follow at the Granby Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alex Parker, Roger Parker, Phillip Parker, Chuck Coon, Gary Bond and Mitchell Jones.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
