Paul A. Gallemore, 74, Seneca, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, from injuries sustained in Saturday’s severe weather at his home in Seneca. Paul was born Nov. 11, 1933, in Seneca, the son of James G. Gallemore and Gertie Alice (Swadley) Gallemore. He was a lifelong area resident and had served in the U.S. Army. Paul was a barber, owning and operating Paul’s Barber Shop in Neosho and following his retirement, owned and operated a basket shop, where he taught the art of basket making. He was a member of Racine Christian Church, where he had served as an elder and was very active in his church. Paul married Dee Ann (Zirkle on Nov. 10, 1956, at Miami, Okla., and she survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Kim Gallemore, El Dorado Springs, Mo. and Kelly Eck and husband, David, Sarcoxie; five granddaughters, Felicia Bilke and husband, Zac, and Natasha Vaughn and husband, Brett, all of Joplin, Megan Thorn, Morgan Houdyshell and Madison Houdyshell, all of El Dorado Springs; two great- grandchildren, Noah Vaughn and Nya Bilke; and one brother, Bill Gallemore and wife, Marilyn, Seneca.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Max Gallemore.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday at the Racine Christian Church, Kirk Roelfsema and Truman Brady, ministers will officiate. Burial will be in the Gallemore Sparlin Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Clifford Whitehead, Clyde Sanders, Bob Zwisler, Patrick Gallemore, Doug Gallemore and Willie Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Josiah, Issac, Toby and Elias Roelfsema, Gerald Griffin and Dale Lowe.
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from noon to 7 p.m. today and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
