Kenneth C. Allman, 86, Fresno, Calif., formerly of Stark City, passed away Jan. 30, 2010, at his home in Fresno, after several years of ill health.  

He was born Aug. 13, 1923, in Stark City, to Robert Clyde and Mollie Velma (Evert) Allman.
Kenneth grew up working in the family business, The Allman Grain Co.  Upon graduation from Midway High School, where he played baseball and basketball, he entered the Army Air Corp and served on Adak in the Aleutian Islands until his discharge in 1945. After the war, Kenneth married Mary Lea Lewis and they would have celebrated their 64th anniversary this year. After returning home from the war, Kenneth continued to work in the grain business until it was sold. He then was employed by Rocketdyne and Pet Milk Co., while he continued to farm raising Black Angus cattle.
In 1986 he and Mary retired, sold the farm and took a long awaited trip to Arizona, where they stayed for 10 years at the foot of the Superstition Mountains in Gold Canyon, Ariz. In 1996, they decided to go further west to California and settled in Fresno.

Kenneth leaves behind his wife, Mary; four daughters, Cheryl Ryder; Marcia Abram and husband, Paul Henry, Debra Fanning and husband, Phillip, and Kim Chase and husband, Bill; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  In addition he had many friends, including neighbors, Ken and Glenita.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Clark Chapel of Memories, Neosho, with visitation at 9 a.m. Speaking for the family will be Rev. Lewis Campbell. Private burial service will follow.
