Gary Allen Thomasson, 57, Neosho, passed away on Jan. 14, 2012, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, after a long battle with a kidney disease.
Gary was born Aug. 2, 1954, in Miami, Okla. He lived around the four-state area his entire life. Gary was a member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, Neosho, where he volunteered for many years in the van ministry.
Gary is survived by his wife, Roanne of the home; a daughter, Bethany, Neosho; two sons, Michael, Neosho, and Glen, Baxter Springs, Kan.; one sister, Sue Stidham, Miami, Okla.; his mother-in-law, Marjorie Vandermade, Neosho; his uncle, Loyd (Claudine) Thomasson, Quapaw, Okla.; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and Artie Campbell, Commerce, Okla., and a sister-in-law, Ann Alexander, Quapaw; plus many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Doris Dean (Burks) Thomasson; two brothers, Walter Alexander and Charles Alexander; his brother-in-law, Phil Stidham, and one grandson.
A special thank you is extended to Dr. Leslie Hamlett, Dr. Abdul Nagaria, Dr. Aleta Greathouse and all the staff at the Freeman Dialysis Center for their care and compassion.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, at the First Freewill Baptist Church, Miami.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
