Mr. Doug L. Geeding, 57, Anderson, departed this life on Thursday evening, Jan. 28, 2010, at his home after a recent battle with cancer.
Doug began his journey on July 17, 1952, in Neosho, born to the union of the late Merle G. and Dora Mae (Cook) Geeding. He was raised in Anderson, and was a 1970 graduate of the McDonald County High School. He worked as a machinist for more than 30 years.
On June 1, 1991, in Eureka Springs, Ark., he was united in marriage to Jackie L. Click, and together they have lovingly shared the last 18 years.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing, rescuing animals, caring for his farm and just simply spending time at home. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Merle Geeding, Jr.
Doug is survived by his wife, Jackie Geeding of the home; two sons, Douglas “Pete” Geeding, Anderson, and Jeremy “Jay” Geeding, Bella Vista, Ark.; a daughter, Mechelle Cleveland and husband, Kent, Crestview, Fla.; a stepson, Mark Dueker, Fayetteville, Ark.; two grandsons, Michael and Jacob Cleveland, both of Crestview; two brothers, Sid Geeding and wife, Vicki, Buffalo, Iowa, and Marvin Geeding and wife, Doris, Nowata, Okla.; a sister, Georgia Beshears and husband, Jack, Bartlesville, Okla.; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Doug L. Geeding are 1 p.m. Wednesday, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes, with Bro. Donnie Spears and Bro. Ronnie Tosh officiating. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Jack Beshears, Joe Beshears, Gary Beshears, Kent Cleveland, Jim McKee and Michael Cleveland. Bill Emanuel will be serving as an honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
