Kenneth D. Charlton, 62, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Freeman West Hospital, following a sudden illness. 

He was born Oct. 28, 1946, in Granby, to Robert and Sylvia (Tanner) Charlton.

Mr. Charlton was a lifelong area resident, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a driver for ICI Explosive, in Joplin. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed his horses.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Tiffany (Shriver) Charlton; three children, Scott Charlton and wife, Kathryn, Cassville, Shael Schnackenberg and husband, Steve, Granby, and Becca Anderson, Joplin; four step-children, Joshua Payne, Frostburg, Md., R. J. Payne, Raeford, N.C., and Brandi and Chelsea Payne, Cumberland, Md.; four grandchildren, Laken Schnackenberg, Ryder Schnackenberg, Boston Anderson, and Brayden Payne; three brothers, Obern Charlton, Granby, Price Charlton, Jane, and Eddie Charlton, Granby; three sisters, Karen Lewis, Ritchey, Kathy Laney, Wheaton, and Mary Beth Creson, Granby; and a special friend, Hannah Rose.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Lewis.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, at Clark Funeral Home, Granby, with Rev. James Schnackenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Granby Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Payne, Jim McGaugh, Mike “Lard” Chandler, Jack Harnes, Doug “Sag” Sagester and Rob Hussong.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., today where the family will receive friends from 6 - 7 p.m.
