Ian Nicholas Garrett, 16, died Friday, June 19, 2009, at Children’s Mercy Hospital, following a sudden illness.
He was born Nov. 3, 1992, in Joplin.
Ian was a student at Neosho High School, and an avid hunter.
He is survived by his parents, Jeanne Brock Patterson, Neosho, and Patrick Garrett, Reno, Nev.; four brothers, Cory Sheppard, Joplin, Austin Garrett, Neosho, and Jay Patterson, Neosho and Granby, and Roman Garrett, of the state of Wisconsin; grandparents, Bob Brock, Neosho, and Lisbeth Garrett, El Paso, Texas; two aunts, Patricia Brock Loveland and Kathy Brock; and an uncle, Roger Garrett.
The body has been taken for cremation, and a memorial service will be held at 6 p.m.,
Wednesday at the Lampo Community Building, with Rev. Rich Williams officiating. Visitation will follow until 8 p.m.
