Cavna Leona Rubottom, 81, Neosho, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at Freeman West Hospital, following an illness.
Mrs. Rubottom was born May 24, 1929, in Crockett County, Tenn. She moved to Neosho in 1956 from California and had worked at Teledyne in Neosho for many years. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary for more than 40 years. She loved to garden and cook and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was the rock of her family and overcame any obstacle thrown her way.
She is survived by a longtime companion, Howard Wright, Neosho; four children, Charlotte Bond, Kansas City, Mo., Steve Basinger, Lenexa, Kan., Seretta Nicklas, Overland Park, Kan., and Mark Rubottom, Neosho; one brother, Earl Proctor, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one sister, Lawana Kofron, Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Dr. Jerry Seigel will officiate. Interment will be in the Neosho IOOF Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. today and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
