Jerry D. Lafoon, 64, Neosho, died at 10:40 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at White Ridge Health Center in Lees Summit, Mo., following a brief illness. 

He was born Dec. 4, 1943, in Newton County.

Mr. Lafoon was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Neosho High School. He did commercial artwork at Neosho Printing for many years, retiring in the 1980s. He was an avid woodworker, which was his love.

Jerry is survived by a daughter, Judy Ladewig, Raymore, Mo.; a brother, Richard Lafoon, Denver, Colo.; a sister, Mary Hruska, Raymore; and a grandson, Davin
Ladewig. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Vivian (Hamilton) Lafoon, and by a brother, James Lafoon, in 1994.

The body has been taken for cremation, and a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday at Clark Chapel of Memories in Neosho, with Dr. Jerry Seigel officiating.
