Some of the recent strong windy days have made walking interesting along Wildcat Boulevard. The other morning, leaves, paper cups, papers, and other debris were flying by at 25-30 miles per hour as I trudged along at my 2-3 mile per hour pace. I made sure I didn’t drop anything, or it would be in Jasper County before I caught it.

Strong winds make me hear new noises as I walk along. Tree branches rub together, flags flap loudly, and buildings creak and rattle in the strong winds. One day several pieces of siding blew off Neosho High School and were lying on the roadway in back of the gymnasium. The fringe-like outdoor decorations used by Car-Mart really make unusual sounds in stiff winds.
