Weekends around our area are busy. I love supporting our area towns and their festivities. When I was growing up in Newtonia, we would venture to Granby for OMTD, usually to watch the fireworks. There is nothing like sitting underneath the stars, looking up and seeing the fireworks produce massive colors. Plus there is the music and the car show and the parade that are a hit. I have not only attended this event, but also covered it for the paper.
One of the best things that I enjoy in Seneca is the parade. Now, for a community to put on a parade is one thing, but for Seneca, the whole community comes out to either participate in the parade or look at the parade, waving as the parade participants go by and hoping that candy is thrown out. this year, I might do something different with the parade in Seneca. Instead of watching and taking pictures from the sidelines, I might ride with the Neosho Shriners and take photos as well. It might be a different angle?
If you have the chance, I highly recommend that you attend these events. There is something for everyone and it is very enjoyable.
the summer is moving by so fast. After we celebrate our freedom, next week will start fair season.
