I have attended the services ever since I began at the Neosho Daily News back in 2003. I personally feel like these services are great and hope they continue for more years to come.

Christmas is rapidly approaching and with that, I would like to encourage everyone to spend time with their families, but also if you can, there are some other options. Take time to volunteer your time. For instance, this Saturday, the Newton County Food Basket Brigade needs volunteers to help pass out food or push a grocery cart to someone's car and to unload the food baskets or even to help cleanup afterwards. The need is there and we should all pitch in and help where we can.
Another avenue to volunteer is with the Christmas dinner at the Civic on Christmas day. I have covered the dinner for more than 15 years and I truly believe it is a great effort. The smiles on the families who attend is priceless. In the past, some of the individuals that I have spoken to have no family around here, so they head to the Civic to have dinner and fellowship with others. Plus, think about the volunteers. They could be home with their families, but they opt to help out. In my book, they are true heroes.
I am sure there are other volunteering avenues, so I implore you to check with your church or other places. Take a few hours and help out.
