Many of you might be packing up the vehicles and traveling to your families, but some might be staying around the area. Which ever might be the case, be careful.
Christmas is a special time for me. I enjoy driving around and seeing the different Christmas lights, decorations, hearing the carols and even the eating the traditional dinner and candy.
I want to give a shoutout for the countless volunteers who will help out for the Community Christmas Dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas day at the Civic. For a number of years, this dinner has brought a lot of joy and fellowship to those who may not have somewhere to go for Christmas or may not want to travel.
I always cover this event before I go to spend time with my family. Attending all of these years, you can actually see how much the residents enjoy themselves and cherish it.
The food smells great at this dinner and has everything you can imagine to eat.
Last week, I emphasized to there are opportunities to volunteer. Well, if you have a chance, I know the community dinner is needing volunteers. Contact KNEO at 451-5636.
