I can tell you these past few days, we have been drinking coffee to help keep us warm. Tina and I enjoy coffee and also love the coffee places here in town. Whether it is Charley's Grill or Flour Box Bakery or even MoJoe's and the new and improved The Clay Club (formerly One14), this town has some of the best coffee around.

When I was a very young child, coffee was something that I drank - now it was not as hot as I like it now, but it was coffee. I kind of phased out of the coffee for a number of years - 10 years to be exact - and as I got into college, the coffee and hot tea fascination came back for me. I remember for one year, my parents got me a gift card to a coffee and tea place at Northpark Mall in Joplin. I think that I used the gift certificate in two days until it was up.
Traveling around the United States in my older years, I drank more of the coffee - pretty much nothing except for coffee. My love of flavored coffees came in late 2008, when I met Tina and our first date was at Panera Bread in Joplin. We sat and drank coffee and talked for a few hours.
Let's face it, coffee is a great way to start a conversation. For more than 10 years, I have gone down to Charley's Grill to have a cup or two and also talk to some of the residents about the current events. After leaving Charley's, on my way to work, I would stop for a flavored coffee either at The Clay Cup or MoJoe's for the rest of the day. Plus, would get a cup for Tina and take it to her work.
Of course, there are other places in Neosho to grab a cup of coffee and I have tried them as well. In short, I don't drink soda pop anymore, mainly because coffee and water are my two sources of drinks. So as I close this week's column, time to go get some more coffee.
