Dear Editor,

There are so many misconceptions about our government. For example: The president is the Commander in Chief of all the people. WRONG! He is Commander in Chief of the military only!

The president can make war legally. WRONG! Only Congress can declare war. The United States is a democracy. WRONG! The United States is a republic.

The Federal Reserve is a government agency. Again, WRONG! The Federal Reserve is a private banking industry granted many powers by Congress.

The Constitution allows the president to permit our military to be used by the United Nations, NATO, etc., for peacekeeping missions. WRONG! Read the Constitution! The government has the right to take from some via taxes and redistribute to others with welfare, grants, foreign aid, payment to the United Nations, NATO, NAFTA, the WTO, etc., as well as restrict or remove your
Second Amendment rights. WRONG! Again, read your Constitution.

As for me, “I’ll keep my guns, my money and my freedom. You can keep the change!”

Thank you,
