The Neosho High School Alumni Association has sold approximately 590 bricks so far for its Memorial Fence in front of the high school, but more bricks are needed to be purchased to get the project under way, according to school officials.

The deadline to purchase bricks has been extended.

The fence, built of brick columns and rod iron, will pay tribute to the graduates of NHS.
By constructing the fence, students will be directed to use the newly installed crosswalk across Neosho Boulevard. The cost of each engraved brick is $30.

Each brick will have inscribed the alumnus’ name and year of graduation.

“The fence is a wonderful way to honor the past, provide for the present, and serve as motivation for future generations,” stated Dr. Richard Page, superintendent of Neosho R-5 Schools. “The fence is going to serve as another way to keep the students safe from the heavy traffic on the boulevard. We have hopes that it will motivate students to stay in school so they can be a Neosho alumni and eventually have a brick as part of the fence.”

There are several ways to gather more information on the Memorial Fence Project:
- Visit the Neosho R-5 School District website at www.neoshopublicschools.net, and then click on the Memorial Fence Project link on the home page of the website.
- Visit the district’s central office building at 115 E. Hickory St.
- Contact Tammy Franks with the NHS Alumni Association at 455-8266.
