The Central Arkansas Lady Bears recently announced the signing of former Crowder player Oakley Sisemore, who enjoyed a historic season last season for the Lady Roughriders.
“I’m really happy about Oakley coming to UCA,” Central Arkansas head coach David Kuhn said in a media release. “I think she will be a great fit on and off the field. She has game-changing speed, and that never slumps. She can bunt, hit, and slap from the left side, and I think she could have an immediate impact on our program.”
During last season, Sisemore batted .492 with 116 hits, 94 runs scored, 10 triples, two home runs, and 71 stolen bases in 71 attempts.
Her outstanding stolen base numbers earned Sisemore the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s New Balance Golden Shoe Award for being the nation’s best base-stealer.
Sisemore also earned NJCAA Offensive All-America first team by Fastpitch News and All-America Second Team by the NfCA and the NJCAA.
NCAA Division I Central Arkansas finished 26-34 overall and 14-13 in the Southland Conference. The Bears’ conference opponents include McNeese State, Abilene Christian, Nicholls State, Lamar, Sam Houston State, Southeastern Louisiana, Northwestern State, Stephen F. Austin, Houston Baptist, UIW, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
