COFFEYVILLE, Kan. — The Crowder Roughriders and the Coffeyville Red Ravens played through 90 minutes of regulation and 30 minutes of two overtime periods to come out at the end in a scoreless tie Tuesday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

This is Crowder's first tie since the 2013 season, September 21 when St. Charles and Crowder played to a 1-all draw at Roughrider Soccer Field.
Speaking of St. Charles, this season's Crowder team returns home Saturday for the Region 16 opener against St. Charles. Match starts at 2 p.m. at Roughrider Soccer Field.
The 'Riders, 0-1-1 on the season, lost their season opener 3-2 in overtime to Rose State (Oklahoma) last Saturday.
St. Charles enters Saturday 1-2 on the season, but that win was a 2-0 score Tuesday against Region 16 rival Jefferson. The Cougars' two losses were 5-0 against Heartland and 8-1 against Iowa Central,
Sophomore goalkeeper Daniel Ost, a returning all-Region 16 selection for the 'Riders, came through Tuesday with three saves. Ost made 11 saves against Rose State.
Coffeyville goalie Nathan Hart, however, may have earned player of the game honors though for his 13 saves.
The 'Riders definitely had more opportunities to score and did not come through. Phillips Gomez attempted four shots for Crowder and Winder Pessoa three among the team’s 13 on goal.
