The Neosho Wildcats evened their records at 6-6 overall and 2-2 Central Ozark Conference Large with a 13-4 win Thursday over the Carl Junction Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Wildcats jumped out to a 7-0 lead after three innings with three runs in the first, three in the second, and one in the third. Carl Junction pushed across four in the fourth, but Neosho put the game away with six in the sixth.
Offensively, Cheyenne Bates led Neosho’s 13-hit attack with three and Tori Frezier, Sierra Jones, and Kaylee Johnson each collected two to give Neosho four players with multi-hit games.
Jones, Johnson, Kyla Daspit, and Megan Geller each drove in a pair of runs, while Jones, Taylor Baker, Johnson, and Geller each crossed home plate twice.
Jones rocked a pair of Neosho’s six doubles, with Johnson, Amber Shepeard, Geller, and Bates all rocking a two-bagger.
Daspit earned the win, allowing four runs (two earned) on seven hits over seven innings. She struck out none and walked one.
With that few strikeouts, that meant Daspit pitched to contact and the Lady Wildcats’ defense committed just a single error. Daspit finished with seven groundouts and 13 flyouts.
Neosho returns to action today at home against COC Large foe Nixa.
