BRANSON — The Seneca Lady Indians finished 2-3 over the weekend in the Branson Tournament.
Seneca closed out the tournament on a downer, falling 10-0 to McDonald County, a team playing the best among the four in the Daily News coverage area.

McDonald County scored three runs in the first, two in each the second and third, and three in the fifth.

The Lady Indians managed only four hits against McDonald County pitchers Miryan Martinez and Kaylee Cornell.

Adron Durman, Chaney Platner, Mikayla French, and Mady Dunbar each singled.

Seneca, 7-10 overall, returns to the road Tuesday against East Newton.

Branson won a 7-5 game Saturday against Seneca, sparked by five runs in the fourth inning.
Chelsea Beville, Platner, and Mekaylee Beard each had two hits for the Lady Indians, while Grace Johnson led the RBI attack with two. Beard doubled.

Beard took the loss in the circle, allowing seven runs (six earned) on 12 hits over four innings. She struck out none and walked one.

In the early game Saturday, Seneca earned a 7-6 walk-off win over Lamar, plating two runs in the dramatic bottom of the seventh.

The Lady Indians earned the win on Beard’s double bringing home Beville. Beville doubled home Durman for the first run in the seventh.

Beville and Beard each had a pair of hits against Lamar.

Beville took the win in the circle, allowing five runs (all earned) on eight hits over seven innings. She struck out four and walked six.

Seneca earned a 12-8 win over Aurora on Friday, scoring three in the first and four in each the second and third. The Lady Indians took a 11-4 lead after their second four-run inning.

Durman, Beville, and Johnson each collected three hits, while Beville drove in three runs and the trio of Durman, Platner, and Beard each drove in two. Beville and Platner each doubled.

Beville earned the win in the circle, allowing seven runs (two earned) on seven hits over four innings. She fanned eight and walked two.
