The Missouri State High School Activities Association has started releasing the seeds and brackets for the upcoming district tournaments — October 16 through 18.

In Class 4, District 12 hosted by Carl Junction, the Carthage Lady Tigers drew the top seed and an opening round bye in the seven-team field. Carthage waits in the second night semifinals.

Neosho, by virtue of one its three wins this season coming against McDonald County, earned the No. 6 seed and an opening match against No. 3 Joplin, a much-improved team this season and winner of the Neosho Invitational last weekend.

No. 2 Carl Junction takes on No. 7 McDonald County and No. 4 Republic battles No. 5 Webb City, with the Lady Tigers the higher seed despite an overall worse record. That’s by virtue of Republic winning a three-set match against the Lady Cardinals in the regular season.

Matches start at 4:30 p.m., October 16, with Webb City-Republic followed by Carl Junction-McDonald County and Joplin-Neosho.

Neosho has already lost three matches against Joplin this season, once early in the regular season and twice in tournament play, in the Carl Junction Classic as well as the Neosho tournament.
