GLADSTONE, Mo. — The Crowder Roughriders' success on the road continued with a 3-0 win Wednesday over Region 16 foe MCC-Maple Woods.

The 'Riders have won four straight matches on the road and lost two in a row at home, with Crowder shutting out two of the four opponents and being shut out both home losses.

Crowder improved to 8-5-1 overall and 4-1-1 on the road with Crowder's only road loss against NJCAA Division I No. 1 St. Louis. The Archers were 15-0 entering their Thursday match against Southwestern Illinois.

In Region 16 matches, the 'Riders finished 4-3 with victories over St. Charles, State Fair, MCC-Blue River, and MCC-Maple Woods and losses to East Central, St. Louis, and Jefferson. Region 16 postseason starts October 21.

On Wednesday, Crowder sophomore goalkeeper Daniel Ost proved to be a brick wall against the Monarchs, showing them who's king with 14 saves. Ost has five shutouts this season and he took part in a school record eight last season; Ost has thus extended his career record to 13 shutouts.

The 'Riders scored their goals in the opening 21-minute, 58-second span of the first half, with Guillaume Rouzic responsible for the first two goals, the first one assisted by Martin Webb and Andrew Browning and the second assisted by Humberto Cruz, who set a Crowder single-season record with 11 last season.

Webb closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal.

Crowder finishes up the regular season Saturday on the road against Allen County (Kansas). The 'Riders make the trek to Iola, Kansas to face the Red Devils, who are 3-8-1 on the season.
