NIXA — The Neosho Wildcats finished eighth as a team in the Central Ozark Conference Large meet on Tuesday, while the Lady Wildcats did not have the minimum five runners to compete for the team crown.

On the boys side, Preston Ford and Nate Wimpey finished back-to-back at 37th and 38th place, respectively, at 18 minutes, 26.68 seconds and 18:30.7.

Cooper Hayes and Oliver Bopp finished 47th and 48th in 19:44.2 and 19:54.3, respectively.

Jeremy Brown round out the Neosho results at 55th in 20:43.9.

Neosho finished with 223 points, just behind seventh Ozark with 221 and far ahead of ninth Republic’s 264.

Webb City won the team sweepstakes with 39 points, helped out by four runners in the top 10: overall winner Ryan Riddle in 15:30.7, Haddon Spikereit fifth in 16:33.8, Joseph Dawson seventh in 16:38.5, and Cole Cooper ninth in 16:42.7. Webb City’s top five runners ended in the top 17 and Webb City’s full seven — two runners not counting toward the team score — finished in the top 26.

Carthage’s Clayton Whitehead finished second in 16:12.5 to lead the sixth place Tigers.

On the girls side, Neosho’s Destiny Colston, Makayla Hall, and Kylie Ropp posted times of 22:09.2, 22:32.3, and 23:14.8, respectively. Hanna Lett ran the race in 30:30.2.

Colston finished 33rd, Hall 43rd, Ropp 49th, and and Lett 59th.

Webb City swept the team titles, winning on the girls side with 51 points. Cami Roy led the Lady Cardinals by finishing second in 19:19.9 and the Lady Cardinals had all five of their point-scorers finish in the top 16.

Willard’s Sydney Parah won the individual conference title with a time of 19:06.5, but the Lady Tigers finished eighth overall in the team standings.
