REPUBLIC — The Neosho Wildcats remained unbeaten in dual competition this season, sweeping Republic and Camdenton on Tuesday by 52-21 and 50-22 scores, respectively.
In the dual against Central Ozark Conference Large foe Republic, Landon Kivett (106 pounds) pinned Zoe Bowman in 1 minute, 37 seconds, Cayden Auch (113) won a 13-0 major decision against Reese Lawler, Brady Franklin (120) pinned Brandon Cron in 1:58, Trenton Young (132) won a 4-2 decision against Jonathan O’Connell, Jeremiah Larson (145) pinned Riley Woodring in 3:17, Alec Rothman won a 14-9 decision against Reece Sobelewski, Drayke Perry (170) won by forfeit, Joey Williams (182) pinned John Hickman in 27 seconds, Zane Persinger (220) pinned Austin Moody in 1:54, and Adrian Hitchcock (285) pinned Darren Aldrich in 1:43.
Republic’s points came via Michael Taylor’s pin of Noah Reiboldt (126) in 4:41, an Isaiah Madson (138) win by forfeit, Seth Wild’s 54-second pin of Jacob Fry (160), and Tyler Dawson’s 4-0 decision against Caleb Elliot (195).
Against the Lakers of Camdenton, Auch (106) won a 11-3 major decision against Grant Garrett, Franklin (120) won a 8-6 decision against Colton Libby, Young (132) pinned Ryan Tothove in 2:35, Larson (145) won a 7-3 decision against Winton Neal, Rothman (152) won a 14-5 major decision against Ethan Harris, Perry (170) pinned Brice Leuenberger in 1:12, Williams (182) won by forfeit, Elliot (195) pinned Reese Esqueda in 1:40, Persinger (220) pinned William Fisher in 52 seconds, and Hitchcock (285) pinned Marcus Stephens in 1:02.
Neosho returns to action Thursday at home against rivals McDonald County and Webb City, for homecoming as well as a state championship banner unveiling and a singlet retirement ceremony.
The Wildcats then head to Branson for a tournament Saturday featuring Bentonville, Branson, Camdenton, Carl Junction, Cassville, Fayetteville, Lee’s Summit, Marshfield, McDonald County, Monett, Seneca, Smithville, Ste. Genevieve, Union, and Vian (Oklahoma).
