ANDERSON — Despite not collecting a single hit against Shiloh Christian, McDonald County earned a 4-3 win Monday.

McDonald County scored three runs in the first and the winning run in the fourth, while Shiloh Christian scored two in the first and one in the second.

Boston Dowd earned the win for the Mustangs, allowing three runs (all earned) on seven hits over seven innings. He struck out four and walked one.

The Mustangs worked eight walks, were hit by pitch twice, and stole four bases. Shiloh Christian also committed a pair of errors.

Ty Shaver, Charlie Moore, David Roark, and Koby McAlister each scored a run, while Tyler Stoutsenberger, Izak Johnson, and Jordan Platter each had RBI. Shaver, Stoutsenberger, Roark, and McAlister each had stolen bases.

Six different pitchers worked for Shiloh Christian, each responsible for one inning of work. Luke Johnson, the starter, allowed three runs (two earned) on three walks. Connor Clark, Gunner Pace, Logan Kalleson, and Cole Oswald each finished with scoreless innings. Drew Dudley took the loss.

The Saints took the loss despite their seven hits, including two each by Clark and Sawyer Duddleston. Kyle LaRoche homered, Conor Germann tripled, and Walker Williams doubled.

McDonald County improved to 3-3 and the Mustangs’ game Tuesday against Carthage was rained out. The Mustangs are slated Saturday to play Carl Junction and Riverton in Carl Junction.
