The Neosho Lady Wildcats earned their first victory of the 2018 season with a 2-0 win (25-13, 25-19) Thursday night over the visiting Monett Lady Cubs.

Neosho’s Savannah Merriman played a statistically rounded match with six kills, two blocks, five digs, and nine service points all placing her among Lady Wildcats leaders on the night.

Brianna Keho added six kills, Emma Hames led with 12 service points and one ace, Melia Robertson had 11 assists, and Riley Funk and Brylee King each matched Merriman with their five digs.

Funk added 11 service points to round out the Lady Wildcats’ notable stats.

Meanwhile, for Monett, Alex Sparkman led with three kills, Megan Grove two blocks, Faith Drewianka and Megan Grove one ace each, Natalie Turner 13 digs, and Kaylee Davis four assists.

Neosho improved to 1-4 overall entering the Cabool Tournament over the weekend and Monett dropped to 1-6 entering a match Tuesday against Parkview.
