Missouri Southern senior Angie Turner and junior Megan Roark (Seneca) were both named second team All-MIAA today as the league announced its postseason honors. Senior second baseman Kelli Bax was named an honorable mention selection.

Turner is arguably one of the best players ever in Southern history. She is the all-time leader in home runs (26) and walks (89), while setting the single-season record for walks this year with 31. She ranks fourth in career RBIs (99), fifth in total hits (181) and sixth in career batting average (.366). This is Turner's fourth All-MIAA selection.

Roark was second on the team this year with a .322 batting average and five home runs, while leading the team with 33 RBIs, 10 doubles and finishing tied for second with two triples. It is Roark's second All-MIAA selection.

Bax is a three-year starter and she led the MIAA this season with 191 at bats and also led the league in games finished and pitched in as relief. She tied a Southern single-game record earlier in the year with four runs scored against Northeastern State.

Emporia State’s Miranda Campbell and Paige Ladenburger were named Player and Freshman of the Year, respectively, while coach Kristi Bredbenner was the Co-Coach of the Year, along with Nebraska-Omaha’s Jeanne Scarpello. UNO’s Beth Haley was the league's Pitcher of the Year.
