Kyle Heman scored 20 points and the Diamond basketball team played solid on defense throughout. But, Thomas Jefferson’s Alex Oserowsky proved to be as good as advertised and he led the Cavaliers to a 51-41 win over the Wildcats.
“Thomas Jefferson just hit big shots when they needed them,” Diamond coach Josh Cook said. “We actually played really good defense. You can’t hold it against your kids when (the opponent) nails a 30-foot jumper with a defender in his face.”
Jared Huffman scored nine points and Logan Myers added six for Diamond (2-1).
“We just have to execute a little better on the offensive end,” Cook said. “We haven’t quite developed that killer instinct on offense yet.”
The Wildcats hit the floor again on Thursday when they take on Lamar in the Seneca Tournament. Tip off for that game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
