Two Newton County teams squared off Monday night in Granby when the Diamond Lady Wildcats visited the East Newton Lady Patriots.
East Newton used a combined 29 points from its post players to dominate from start to finish in a 48-25 victory.
Kourtney Brewster and Lindey Broyles led the Lady Pats with 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Other scorers for East Newton were Hailey Helig 7, Whitney Thomlinson 7, Shelby Thomlinson 3 and Aubrey McDermott 2.
Diamond didn’t have any scorers in double figures.
The Lady Wildcats were led by Hanna Million with eight points. Other scorers were Megan Wilson with six, Stefani Thomas with five, Heather Wilson with four and Cady Littlefield with two.
East Newton (4-8) will travel to Lamar on Thursday. Diamond (4-6) takes on Miller on the road Friday.
