Diamond started its season with a bang Monday night in the opening round of the Pierce City Tournament.
The Wildcats had three scorers in double figures en route to a dominant, 65-26 win over Exeter.
Scott Corn and Ryan Jinks each had 13 points to pace Diamond while Kyle Heman chipped in with 12.
“We ran the floor well,” Diamond coach Josh Cook said. “It was a good team effort on both the offensive and defensive end.”
Diamond advances to play Crane on Thursday in the semifinals. Crane advanced with a 53-45 win over Verona.
Other scorers for Diamond were: Trent Hayes 9, Logan Myers 8, Brodie Bien 5, Brent Olsen 4, Jared Huffman 2 and Tyler Horton 2.
