The Miller Cardinals have won three straight Spring River Valley Conference championships.
Last season, Miller was a district champion and lost in the state tournament to the eventual state champion Crane Pirates.

Friday, the Diamond Wildcats made a statement.

Behind 26 points from Kyle Heman, the Wildcats rolled to a 77-47 win.

The victory moved Diamond to 2-0 in SRVC play and puts the Wildcats in the driver’s seat for a conference title.

“(Miller) went up 12-5 to start the game. They were on fire shooting the ball,” Diamond coach Josh Cook said. “We called a timeout to calm down a little bit and get it together on defense. After that, we played a great team game. We had 14 assists and only four turnovers. We played outstanding team defense.”

After leading 32-24 at the half, Diamond opened up the throttle in the second half to run away with the contest.

Jared Huffman added 17 points for the Wildcats (9-2, 2-0 SRVC). Diamond will play in the NEO A&M Tournament late this week. Thursday, they will take on Afton, Okla. at 9 p.m.
