After winning five in a row, the McDonald County Lady Mustangs have now lost two straight.

Despite three scorers in double figures, the Lady Mustangs lost to Carl Junction, 42-40 Thursday night.

Callie Shaver had 11 points while Ashton Pratt and Preslea Reece added 10 each. Kenzie Dill had six points and Darian Stancell had three.

After taking a 22-18 lead into the locker room, McDonald County saw its lead evaporate in the third quarter when the Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Mustangs, 12-4.

McDonald County had a chance to retake control in the fourth but just fell short.

Monday, the Lady Mustangs (10-10) will face East Newton at home.
