“The thing I was probably the most pleased with was our effort tonight,” Neosho coach Jeremy Phillips said. “It’s funny. After we got done wrestling against Caney one of their wrestlers said ‘Man, if I wrestled for you guys, I’d quit. You work too hard.’ That was a great compliment for me, at least I took it that way. That’s what we work for, to outwork, out-hustle and out-fight our opponents and let the results speak for themselves. These young people are continuing to be coachable and they are making a nice push to be back at the top in the end.”
The Wildcats will be back in action Thursday at Springfield Hillcrest for a dual against Rolla.
“Rolla will be a good dual for us on Thursday leading into conference on Saturday and the junior varsity getting some good matches Friday and Saturday at the Seneca Tournament,” Phillips said. “We’ve got some tough matches ahead of us. Hopefully, we’ll use those to make us better and peak at the end when it matters most.”
Neosho will only dual with Rolla. They will not wrestle against Hillcrest.
