East Newton girls dominate Seneca

Kourtney Brewster led three Lady Patriots in double digits with 17 points and East Newton dismantled Seneca, 56-24 in Big 8 Conference play Thursday night.

Hailey Helig scored 15 points and Lindey Broyles had 10 in the victory for East Newton.

Seneca was led in scoring by Bailey Skelton with 11 points.

The Lady Patriots (6-9, 2-0 Big 8) jumped out to a 15-4 lead after one quarter and took a 24-9 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Other scorers for East Newton were: Whtiney Thomlinson 8, Emily Brummett 2, Kenzie Riegle 2, Christin Wheeler 1 and Sarah Harper 1.

The Lady Patriots will take on Mt. Vernon Monday at home.

Other scorers for Seneca were: Mirana Heath 8, Annie Howard 2, Maura Butler 2 and Molli Cooper 1.
Seneca (4-9, 0-1 Big 8) will travel to Carl Junction Tuesday.
