The Seneca Indians opened Big 8 Conference play Friday against their old rival the Carl Junction Bulldogs.
Despite a game-high 21 points from Kyler Ng, Seneca fell on the road to the Bulldogs, 57-47.
“They hit shots and we didn’t,” Seneca coach Will King said. “We were like 5-for-22 from the field in the first half. We had more rebounds, less turnovers but we only shot 35 percent from the floor and (Carl Junction) shot 48 percent.”
The Bulldogs took a nine-point lead into the locker room at halftime and after the third quarter, they saw that lead expanded to 12 points.
Carl Junction was led by Chase Marrs with 15 points.
Other scorers for Seneca were: Daniel Noah 8, Dalton Lindsey 4, Bradley Jumper 3, Elias Roelfsema 3, Payton Rawlins 3, Zack Kelly 2, Logan St. Clair 2 and Seth Harris 1.
Seneca (8-4, 0-1 Big 8) will travel to Pierce City on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup.
