Wheaton baseball beats Blue Eye

The Wheaton Bulldogs hiked its baseball record to 3-0 on the season Monday.

Wheaton had a pair of three-run innings to beat the Blue Eye Tigers.

In the third inning, Jakob Beck had a two-run single and Darren Medley added a sacrifice fly. In the fourth inning, Sean Goosetree smacked a three-run homer.

Blue Eye had taken the lead by scoring twice in the first inning.

Kyle Robbins, a junior, tossed a complete game for the victory. He struck out 12, walked three and scattered five hits in the seven inning game.

Last week, Wheaton picked up wins over Crane (9-5) and Golden City (5-3).
