Wildcats 7th and 8th grade team finishes 2011 unbeaten

The Neosho Junior High wrestling team put the cherry on top of a successful weekend for the Neosho wrestling program on Saturday night.

Behind 10 individual champions, the Wildcats earned a Central Ozark Conference Tournament title in Webb City. Neosho just edged out Ozark, 225-224.

Individual champions for Neosho were:
John Williams, 85 lbs.
Dylan Bates, 90 lbs.
Trey Smith, 95 lbs.
Gannon Millard, 105 lbs.
Toby Friend, 105 lbs. (B)
Chris Drum, 110 lbs.
Isaac Townsend, 125 lbs.
Kyle Hostetter, 150 lbs.
Kash Rook, 215 lbs.
Yordan Jack, Heavyweight

In addition to the 10 champions, Neosho also had five runners-up:

Cody Rains, 115 lbs.
Dakota Vance, 120 lbs.
Tyson Hice, 125 lbs. (B)
Rexi Elwise, 142 lbs.
Addison Derryberry, 195 lbs.

The NJHS wrestlers finish the 2011 season undefeated in duals and tournaments.

“I look forward to seeing these guys in high school at the varsity level,” Neohso Junior High coach Donny Pennington said. “I think they will do a great job of carrying on the tradition of Neosho wrestling.”
