Neosho, Mo. -

The Crowder College Lady Roughriders are waiting out the rain to see when they will return to the softball diamond.

Rain washed away the team’s scheduled doubleheader Wednesday afternoon against No. 20 ranked Iowa Western Community College.

Crowder coach Brandi Arthur noted late Wednesday night that the school has pushed back a noon start today to at least 4 p.m.

That is, if the weather cooperates and the rain tapers off, but in the early morning hours today, rain was still falling in the area.

The winner of the best-of-three series will advance to the NJCAA World Series in Florida next week.

Rain also washed away Seneca’s final Big 8 Conference game Wednesday afternoon.

The Indians finish with a 4-2 mark after their game against Mount Vernon was rained out and will not be made up, coach Chris Yust noted.

The Indians are slated to play at St. Mary’s-Colgan in Pittsburg, Kan., today.
