Brittany Copeland scored a goal in the 61st minute to tie the game at 1-1, and that's how the tournament match ended with Willard Friday afternoon at Lions Field.

Neosho is now 1-0-1 in its own tournament. On Thursday, the Lady Wildcats opened tournament play with a 2-1 victory over Carl Junction. Other games on the docket for Friday night were Hillcrest vs. Joplin and Willard against Carl Junction.

Down 1-0 against Willard, Neosho's Copeland tied the score after the Lady Tigers' keeper came out of the 18-yard box to go after a loose ball. Copeland was able to get to the ball before the keeper, tipped it past her and fired a shot into the net.

Willard controlled the offensive tempo of the game late in the second half and throughout most of the overtime.

Neosho goalkeeper AshLeigh Thomlinson made several quality saves late in the second half to keep the game tied.

On Thursday, Neosho took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Reba Potts. Carl Junction later would tie the game. The Lady Wildcats regained the lead in the final 10 minutes of the second half when Brittany Copeland gained possession of a ball that hit a Carl Junction defender, and booted a shot into the side netting for the winning goal.

Copeland now has three goals on the season.
