Neosho, Mo. -

After being outscored 15-0 in three games last week, the Neosho Lady Wildcats soccer team appears to be out of the scoring slump.

Neosho won its second game in as many days, picking up a 5-2 victory over visiting Marshfield at Lions Field Tuesday night.

This victory comes a day after defeating Springfield Central, 3-0.

The star of the game was Shelby Murray, who recorded a hat trick — three goals — in the game.

Murray scored twice in the first half, while Amelia White added another goal to give the Lady Cats a 3-1 lead over the Lady Blue Jays.

Murray scored her third and final goal on a penalty kick, after a foul was called on a Marshfield for tackling Murray in the box.

Ashley Bartkoski had 11 saves in goal for Neosho.

As a team, Neosho had 25 shots on goal, giving them 67 in two games.

“We totally dominated this game,” said Neosho coach Laura Schisler. “That is good after last week. We played well on our soggy field. We had a lot of passing, which is good to see as a coach.”

Neosho, now 8-9, looks to go back to .500 on the season when it returns to action playing Joplin McAuley in Saginaw, Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
